Man charged following investigation into historic sexual abuse offences

A man has been charged following an investigation into the alleged historic sexual abuse of children in the state’s Hawkesbury area through the Nineteen Eighties.

Detectives connected to Hawkesbury Police Area Command established Strike Force Twill in October 2022, following a number of reviews of alleged youngster sex abuse that occurred at a vacation park in Wisemans Ferry.

Police have been advised between the years 1982 and 1987, a resident of a vacation park allegedly sexually assaulted a number of young boys.

Following  Man charged following investigation into historical sexual abuse offences , investigators arrested a 60-year-old man in Wisemans Ferry, about 9am Thursday (20 July 2023).

He was charged with 22 youngster sexual assault offences and one count of frequent assault.

He was refused bail and appeared at Penrith Local Court on Friday (21 July 2023), to reappear at the same courtroom on Friday 29 September 2023.

As inquiries proceed, police are appealing for anyone who could possibly assist detectives, together with anybody who holidayed in the space at that time and witnessed suspicious behaviour.
